Job summary

Ipsum Group is seeking an experienced Estimator in Fareham to prepare accurate bids for EV charging infra, civil works and electrical installations. You will develop commercially viable proposals, liaising with clients, suppliers and project teams to ensure estimates meet project specs and schedules.

The role requires interpreting drawings, cost build-ups and tender documentation, with a focus on accuracy, value engineering and timely tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating EV charging, civils, or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and perform cost build-ups.
• Strong numerical and commercial awareness for margins.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender docs to prepare estimates.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for EV charging infra and civils works.
• Calculate excavation, ducting, cabling routes and foundations costs.
• Estimate electrical works for EV installations and containment.
• Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Create bills of quantities, take-offs and tender submissions.
• Highlight risks, exclusions, assumptions and opportunities.
• Visit sites and assess existing conditions when required.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams on scope.
• Maintain records of tender information and decisions.
