Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a senior engineering leader to head Structural Systems Engineering across Europe, responsible for BIW, Frames & Subframes and Battery Structures. You will own the technical strategy, development and delivery, ensuring quality, cost, weight and robustness throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years automotive engineering experience in BIW/Body Structures, Frames/Subframes and/or Battery Structures.
• Deep technical understanding of structural systems engineering (design/release, CAE, testing, validation, production launch).
• Proven experience leading an engineering department or major engineering organization.
• Strong understanding of FMA, DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Experience delivering complex programs across multiple functions.
• Strong link between engineering performance, manufacturability, quality, weight and cost.
• Experience with suppliers and cross-functional partners such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, STA and Program Management.
• Strong people leadership, coaching and organizational development capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical delivery of Structural Systems Engineering in Europe across BIW, Frames/Subframes and Battery Structures.
• Provide technical direction and decision-making across the product development lifecycle.
• Lead design reviews and ensure robust application of Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA).
• Ensure verification, validation and sign-off using DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Identify technical risks early and drive cross-functional resolution before launch or field issues.
• Support successful production launches and issue resolution in the field.
• Lead technical feasibility alignment between Engineering, Studio and Manufacturing during product development.
• Develop and evaluate technical and commercial business cases for key decisions.
• Represent EU Structural Systems Engineering with senior and executive leadership.
