Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in the UK is seeking a Road Freight Specialist to plan and coordinate European road freight movements, working with hauliers and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective transport while delivering excellent service.

You will optimise routes, monitor performance, manage transport systems, and support RFQ activities to secure competitive pricing and capacity. Strong English communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

Experience with customs processes for UK/European road freight.
Experience with transport billing and invoicing.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
High attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily road freight operations to meet customer requirements.
Optimise routes, vehicle utilisation and transport schedules for efficiency.
Liaise with hauliers and internal stakeholders on shipment status and requirements.
Support RFQ activities to secure competitive pricing and capacity.
Monitor transport performance against service and cost targets.
Ensure compliance with legal and company transport regulations.
Maintain transport management systems accurately and efficiently.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for operations.
Identify and resolve service issues proactively.
