Job description

Our clients, who specialise in Fine Art logistics services, are looking to appoint a European Road Freight Coordinator for their team based in Berkshire. Experience handling Fine Art is essential for this role.

As European Road Freight Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the export/import processes for road freight shipments, as well as ensuring the profitability of the European transport operations.

Responsibilities include:

1. Planning and coordinating transport routes and schedules across Europe, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
2. Managing customer collections, packing services, and deliveries.
3. Coordinating with customers, office staff, drivers, and vehicles for route planning and scheduling.
4. Handling customs clearance and managing customs entry exceptions.
5. Managing EU airfreight and courier shipments.
6. Resolving client and supplier issues and complaints.
7. Coordinating the shipping of fine art and antiques.
8. Liaising with overseas agents, galleries, auction houses, artists, and transport companies.
9. Guiding clients through the shipping process of their art/artefacts.
10. Quoting and coordinating domestic and international shipments.
11. Arranging collections, deliveries, and specialist packing services.
12. Preparing and processing transportation documentation.
13. Handling paperwork such as bills of lading, labelling, timesheets, condition reports, and customs clearance.
14. Producing invoices and operational reports, maintaining detailed records.
15. Producing cost analyses and reports on jobs and truck runs.
16. Communicating with sales and operations teams throughout the day.

Candidate requirements:

• Proven experience in domestic and European transport operations and planning.
• In-depth knowledge of EU customs procedures, paperwork, and legislation.
• Good geographical knowledge and experience dealing with high-end clients and goods.
• Commercially focused and highly organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
