European Project Engineer - Fire & Security Installations

Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Project Engineer- Europe to assist the Project Manager across allocated projects, ensuring on-schedule delivery and adherence to customer expectations and statutory regulations.

You will support the Project Manager on H&S management, installation progress, quality, material management and test/commissioning across EU sites, with duties spanning surveys, planning, coordination and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire detection, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems to applicable British/European standards.
• Knowledge of BAFE/NSI codes of practice.
• Ability to plan and monitor work to tight deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and prepare documentation considering security and fire risk factors.
• Plan fire detection, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems.
• Ensure designs meet technical and regulatory standards (EN, BS, HTM) and BAFE/NSI codes.
• Coordinate installation activities per procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Actively monitor and manage project progress.
• Adhere to quality, health & safety policies and false alarm management.
• Provide reports to Project Manager and officers.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the directors.
• H&S reporting including toolbox talks and site inspections.
• Quality reporting with snagging and documentation.
• Report progress with drawings or schedules markups.
• Liaise with PM to ensure adequate labour for project needs.
• Attend site meetings as required.
• Accept installations for commissioning; commission and test systems.
• Demonstrate operation to client or client representative.
• Stay updated on new technologies and regulatory standards relevant to design.
