Job Description

Location: Leeds

The Technology Directorate provides information and system technology services to all business areas in the Bank as part of Central Services. Our key objective is to support the policy and operational divisions to meet the Bank's stated objectives. The Digital Workplace domain is within the Technology Directorate and is responsible for selecting, delivering, and continuously improving a portfolio of digital services that help colleagues across the Bank to collaborate, communicate, and be productive irrespective of role, device, or location.

The core responsibilities of the role are:

  1. People management - support and develop individual team members to maintain a motivated, high-performing team; handle staff-related matters including performance, absence, and sickness.
  2. Delivery management - run the team's agile methodology, coach team members, ensure commitments are met, manage incident, request, and problem processes, oversee project delivery, and ensure adherence to ITIL processes.
  3. Product ownership and operational oversight - collaborate with stakeholders and solution designers to develop strategies and roadmaps, manage and prioritize the team's pipeline, ensure service health, security, and policy compliance, and coordinate incident responses.

This role involves approximately 40% on people management, 40% on delivery, and 20% on product ownership, adaptable based on demand.

This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about people management and leading agile teams.

This role offers flexible working patterns, including job share, flexible hours, part-time, and compressed hours. A minimum of 40% in-office attendance (preferably 50%) is required, which can be spread across the month.

Role Requirements

Minimum Criteria

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Team and people leadership
  • Product ownership
  • Delivery management
  • Technical knowledge of Citrix, Horizon VDI, Group Policies, Printing, Intune, Azure

Essential Criteria

Candidates should embody our values, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, show high integrity and organization, and be detail-oriented and resilient under pressure. A willingness to embrace our Service First culture is essential.

Desirable Criteria

Experience in strategic team leadership, fostering diversity and inclusion, effective communication, engaging with senior stakeholders, implementing agile methodologies, managing vendors, and technical knowledge of relevant technologies.

Salary and Benefits

Salary in Leeds: circa £47,920 - £53,910. Benefits include pension, performance awards, flexible benefits allowance, annual leave, private medical insurance, and income protection.

Security Vetting

Employment is subject to security clearance and additional vetting processes.
