Job summary

Vanguard is seeking an in-house Regulatory Counsel to provide legal and regulatory guidance across the EU and UK. You will partner with Compliance, Risk and Policy teams to implement regulatory changes, advise on governance, and support strategic initiatives within the Europe Legal team.

The role is hybrid, requiring three days in the office weekly. A qualified lawyer with 5+ PQE in asset management or financial services is preferred, with strong drafting and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with at least five years' PQE in-house for an international asset manager or private practice.
• Experience advising on financial services regulation and regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory advice on EU/UK regulation and governance in respect of Vanguard enterprise.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Public Policy, Risk and business units on regulatory impacts and BAU changes.
• Research and horizon scan regulation applicable to the Vanguard enterprise.
• Support Corporate and Enterprise Legal Services unit and the broader OGC Legal team as needed.
• Partner with global OGC teams and other Vanguard colleagues on regulatory matters.
• Develop knowledge of investment industry and regulatory changes affecting Vanguard's European operations.
