EU Privacy & AI Policy Lead

Job summary

Meta seeks a motivated and organized Privacy & Data Policy Manager to join our European team. You will lead external engagement with regulators, policymakers, academics and civil society across the EU on privacy and AI policy issues.

The role requires senior-level coordination across policy, legal, communications, product and engineering, delivering timely analyses, strategy and advocacy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in privacy, data or technology policy, regulatory affairs, or closely related field
• Fluency in English and French for EU regulatory engagement
• Demonstrated expertise in AI policy and EU privacy framework (GDPR, AI Act, DSA/DMA, Data Act)
• Established familiarity with data and privacy community in at least one possible base country (Spain, France, Italy)
• Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programmes with PM, workflow and lifecycle management
• Strong presentation, writing, and stakeholder-management skills for senior external audiences

Responsibilities

• Policy leadership and external engagement
• Identify and monitor data policy issues affecting Meta in the EU
• Monitor, analyse EU and national privacy, data governance and AI regulation; assess implications for Meta
• Develop proactive strategies to address policy challenges
• Engage with regulators, policymakers, academia, civil society, industry bodies
• Represent Meta at meetings and conferences
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on policy submissions and engagement plans
• Own project plans and strategic frameworks for privacy and AI external engagement initiatives
• Provide centralized view across privacy team on external engagement activity
• Drive escalation on priorities, resourcing and initiatives
• Partner with events and policy programmes to develop and execute events
