Job summary

The University of Nottingham is inviting applications for a fixed-term, part-time lectureship in ethnomusicology for February 2027 to June 2027. You will deliver teaching and assessment for the undergraduate module Approaches to Popular Music (Levels Two and Three) and supervise undergraduate projects in ethnomusicology.

You will also administer a research symposium, contribute to the department's teaching culture, provide pastoral support as a Personal Tutor, and engage with equality, diversity

Qualifications

  • PhD in Music or equivalent in Ethnomusicology.
  • Emerging or established career as ethnomusicologist nationally and/or internationally.
  • Previous HE teaching experience.
  • Experience of assessment at HE level.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative teaching.
  • Contribute positively and proactively to the Department's teaching culture.
  • Assess Undergraduate students in music.
  • Provide pastoral support to students as a Personal Tutor.
  • Be responsible for administrative duties.
  • Organise a research symposium.
