Saffery LLP seeks a Manager - Ethics to join the Risk and Compliance team in London. You will support the operation and continuous improvement of the ethics and independence framework, interpreting ethics standards and advising staff on day-to-day matters.

The role suits a professionally qualified accountant with audit experience or someone from an ethics function in professional services who wants to develop their career in a varied, non-client facing position.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or equivalent with audit experience.
• Good knowledge of the ICAEW Code of Ethics and the FRC Ethical Standard.
• Knowledge of ISQM (UK) 1 is desirable.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and comfortable working with datasets and management information.

Responsibilities

• Interpret ethical standards and provide advice on day-to-day questions; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Monitor compliance with ethical requirements and related controls.
• Draft, maintain and implement ethics and independence policies and guidance.
• Coordinate and monitor declarations, approvals and annual compliance processes.
• Support investigations into ethical breaches and coordinate remedial actions.
• Prepare reports and briefings for senior leadership.
