Job description

We have the privilege of working with an established and ever-expanding Fresh Produce Group. We now require an Ethical Trade and Human Rights Manager to focus within divisions of the business to lead in ethical trade, human rights and modern slavery strategies.

The position of Ethical Trade and Human Rights Manager is of high importance within the group, with global awareness of individuals working to grow, pack and supply the world s finest fresh produce.

Working closely with the Responsible Sourcing team and reporting to the Head of Responsible Sourcing, the successful Ethical Trade and Human Rights Manager will identify, mitigate, and manage human rights risks and embolden multi-agency collective action to enhance fairness, dignity, and lasting positive social impact for all people within their supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to promote and uphold ethical trade and human rights policies, standards and requirements.
  • Promote a culture of trust, transparency, and continuous improvement in human rights due diligence (HRDD) practices with customers and suppliers.
  • Monitor compliance and report on progress against KPIs, audit results, and impact metrics.
  • Analyse audit non-conformance trends and support suppliers to implement corrective action plans that address root causes.
  • Liaise with certification bodies to review audit findings, resolve reoccurring issues, and align standards.
  • Conduct global supply chain risk assessments, HRDD reviews, and accommodation visits to prevent human rights risks.
  • Develop and oversee corrective action plans, supplier engagement, and capacity building initiatives.

We require

  • Conversant with international Human Rights standards and legislation including ETI base code, ILO Conventions, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
  • Analytical with the ability to complete root cause analysis and proven experience delivering sustainable improvement plans.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power BI to manage large datasets.
  • Competent Sedex platform user.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels and disciplines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong work ethic, deadline-focused.

Travel will be required, so a Driving Licence is essential.
