Job Title: ETC Strength and Conditioning Coach

Department: Football Development

Location: Various locations across Burnley and Pendle

Contract Type: Casual/Zero Hours

Working Pattern: 4 hours per week on a Thursday, on occasions, you may be required to undertake additional duties.

Closing Date: 11th September 2025

Salary: £13 per hour

The Role

The ETC Strength and Conditioning Coach will support the Female Football Development Officer (FFDO) to deliver on the Emerging Talent Centre and ensuring our players are physically prepared for training sessions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To plan and deliver a physical performance programme aligned to a physical framework to our ETC players.
  • Implement on field conditioning sessions to develop physical qualities related to power, speed, and agility.
  • Deliver strength and conditioning sessions and formal monitoring and evaluation of player performance.
  • Deliver female specific conditioning sessions for players age between 8-16 years that helps injury prevention
  • Planning sessions based off a set framework provided by the Centre Manager.
  • Provide players with workout plans to take home with them and practice in their own time that is age appropriate.
  • Communicate regularly with the Centre Manager, Coaching staff, and Physio to ensure we maximize the players’ performance.
  • Deliver to small groups and deliver sessions that are specific to the needs of the players’ age and stage of development.
  • Liaise with coaching staff to deliver sessions with relevant training load, ratios and intensities aligned to the ETC players’ development needs.
  • Be able to identify areas of development that players need to work on to help improve performance.
  • To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires.
  • To work towards agreed objectives.
  • Comply with all Charity policies.
  • Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.
  • Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Working towards UKSCA and or BASES Accreditation.
  • BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport and Exercise Science or equivalent.

  • Experience of planning and delivering on-field physical development sessions for players.
  • Understanding of Growth and Maturation and the potential implications on the person.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements.
  • Full clean driving license with access to own transport.
