Job summary

Elvet Recruitment is assisting a leading family-owned building contractor in County Durham to recruit Estimators of all levels. You'll work within a high-performing pre-construction team to prepare tenders, review drawings, and produce accurate cost estimates.

Ideal candidates will have experience in a main contractor environment, strong pricing knowledge, and the ability to measure works independently. Experience with Causeway is advantageous, and the role offers hybrid working patterns with

Qualifications

• Experience as an estimator within a main contractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and pricing.
• The ability to measure works and prepare costs independently.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
• A proactive, positive and collaborative approach.
• Experience with Causeway is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Preparing competitive tenders across a diverse range of projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Producing accurate take-offs and cost estimates.
• Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.

To support the companies continued growth, we're looking for estimators of all levels to join our high-performing pre-construction team.

Candidates are invited to apply who are:

• A trainee or assistant estimator ready for your next step
• An estimator looking to broaden your experience
• A senior estimator preparing to progress into a managing estimator role

What you'll be doing:
