Job summary

Clancy is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the Fareham pre‑construction team. You will develop accurate estimates for water and wastewater projects, typically up to £20 million, and contribute to successful tender submissions.

You’ll work from drawings and specs, perform take-offs, evaluate quotations and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify risks and value engineering opportunities. A strong Excel/estimating system skillset is expected.

Qualifications

• Estimating experience in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure is essential.
• Ability to interpret drawings/specifications and develop first-principles estimates.
• Experience with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts is advantageous.
• Strong numeracy, commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple tenders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates from drawings, specs and tender docs.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and develop first-principles rates.
• Obtain review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering for tenders.
• Support tender submissions with clarifications and exclusions.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, engineering and commercial teams through tender processes.
• Hand over successful tenders to delivery teams after contract award.
• Maintain estimating databases and project benchmarks to inform future tenders.
• Manage multiple tenders and deadlines to ensure accurate, on-time submissions.
