Job Title: Estimator - Structural Steel

Location: Wales - office based

Salary: Up to £65,000 (depending on experience)

With a commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation, we are now seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team.

Role Overview

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction process, preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting the business in winning and delivering successful projects. You'll be working on large-scale structural steel packages and liaising closely with clients, design teams, and internal departments.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for structural steel projects.
  • Analyse tender documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Evaluate technical documents to identify risks, opportunities, and potential cost savings.
  • Prepare bills of quantities, budgets, and cost plans.
  • Contribute to tender submissions and presentations.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the wider commercial team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and health & safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the structural steel or wider construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steelwork, fabrication, and erection processes.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach.
