Job summary

Rogers McHugh is recruiting an experienced Estimator to join a three-person pre-construction team in Halifax. You will price and secure a range of projects across retail, commercial and industrial sectors, with project values from £100k to £6m.

The role offers long-term stability within a cash-rich contractor. Key responsibilities include preparing tenders, analysing drawings and documentation, and liaising with clients and suppliers to secure profitable work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment.
• Strong knowledge of pricing projects across different build types.
• Experience working on retail, commercial, and/or industrial projects.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tenders for projects from £100k to £6m.
• Work across a variety of projects including retail, commercial and industrial (new builds, refurbishments and extensions).
• Collaborate with the pre-construction team to secure profitable work.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to gather information and negotiate costs.
• Assist in building and maintaining strong supply chain relationships.
• Support colleagues in a team of estimators, contributing to knowledge sharing.
