Estimator - Industrial and Commercial Roofing

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: up to £80,000 + 25 days holiday + pension

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a specialist roofing contractor based near Portsmouth, seeking a Roofing Estimator to join their team. The company collaborates directly with surveyors and building owners to deliver high-quality industrial and commercial roofing refurbishment projects across the UK.

With ambitious growth plans, this role offers a senior position with long-term career prospects. The ideal candidate will be experienced and results-driven, owning the entire tendering process from enquiry to securing purchase orders.

In this role, you will:

1. Handle the entire estimating and tender process, ensuring projects are accurately scoped, specified, and priced.
2. Attend site visits to measure works, assess project requirements, and meet clients face-to-face.
3. Work with supply chain partners to develop tailored specifications for each project.
4. Build and maintain strong client relationships for repeat business.
5. Provide detailed handovers to the Projects Team for smooth project delivery.
6. Follow established processes while contributing to department improvements.
7. Deliver results by meeting targets for securing new work in the £250k–£3M range.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in estimating and winning roofing and building envelope refurbishment projects.
• Experience working directly with clients and surveyors on commercial and industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems, sheeting, and cladding works.
• Excellent communication skills for site surveys and client discussions.
• Commercial awareness, organization, and self-management skills.
• Experience liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to develop accurate project specifications.
