Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Estimator to join a busy construction contractor near Stirling. The company handles projects across Residential, Education, Care, Hospitality, Industrial and more, with typical project values exceeding £50 million.

You will prepare detailed first-principles estimates and lead tender submissions, reviewing drawings and specifications to identify risks and opportunities, and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating for main contracts in construction.
• Ability to review drawings and specifications for bids.
• Negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed first-principles estimates and commercially competitive tender submissions.
• Take ownership of enquiries from initial review through to final pricing and submission.
• Review drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities and contract documentation to identify risks and opportunities.
• Obtain, analyse and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop labour, plant, material and subcontract cost build-ups.
• Prepare tender qualifications, exclusions, clarifications and commercial proposals.
• Liaise directly with clients, consultants and supply chain during the tender process.
• Hold tender adjudication meetings and provide clear recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure a structured commercial handover of successful tenders to the Contracts site team.

They work on a variety of projects spanning across sectors such as Residential, Education, Care, Hospitality, Industrial and more. You will be joining a company who have been operational for over 40 years, working on projects exceeding £50million. We are looking for an Estimator who has strong, main contract experience within the construction industry.
