Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an Estimator for civil engineering and water infrastructure projects in the UK. The role is hybrid/flexible, delivering accurate cost estimates and robust tender pricing for major infrastructure frameworks.

You will work with bid, planning and procurement teams to identify risks and ensure competitive tenders. You will review documents, develop pricing, and present estimates at adjudications, supporting client negotiations and seamless handovers to delivery teams

Qualifications

• Experience estimating civil engineering projects.
• Experience building tender build-ups and pricing.
• Knowledge of pipelines, MEICA, tunnelling, shafts, rail civils or groundworks.

Estimator – Civil Engineering / Water Infrastructure

We're recruiting an Estimator to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the water sector.

Working as part of an established pre-construction team, you'll play a key role in securing work on high-value frameworks, collaborating with bid, planning, procurement and operational teams to produce accurate, competitive tenders.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects across the water sector.
• Reviewing tender documents, drawings and Bills of Quantities to develop robust pricing and methodologies.
• Working closely with bid, planning and procurement teams to identify risks, opportunities and key assumptions.
• Presenting estimates at tender adjudications and supporting client negotiations where required.
• Providing detailed handovers to delivery teams following contract award.

What we're looking for

• Estimating experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities.
• Knowledge of projects such as pipelines, MEICA, tunnelling, shafts, rail civils or groundworks.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience producing tender build-ups and using estimating software (Candy or similar).
• Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating across technical and operational teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Chartered status is beneficial but not essential.
