Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Estimator to support commercial HVAC, M&E and heat pump projects in Leeds. You will prepare cost estimates, review drawings, price labour and materials, and manage subcontractor quotes.

You will identify commercial risks and liaise with clients and project teams. Experience in HVAC/M&E estimating, knowledge of low-carbon heating systems, and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven estimating experience within Commercial HVAC and M&E projects.
• Knowledge of Air Source Heat Pumps and low-carbon heating systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong commercial awareness and tendering experience.
• Proficient in Excel and estimating software.

Leeds | Contract (Outside IR35) OR Permanent - Hybrid

Our client, a well-established Building Services contractor, is seeking an experienced Estimator to support the delivery of commercial and industrial HVAC, Heat Pumps, M&E, and low-carbon heating projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Price labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Identify value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and project teams
• Support project handovers and pre-construction activities

Requirements

• Proven estimating experience within Commercial HVAC and M&E projects
• Knowledge of Air Source Heat Pumps and low-carbon heating systems
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

Desirable

• HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar
• Knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts
• Building Services or HVAC contracting background
• CSCS Card
