Job summary

Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering is seeking an Estimator to work on the Sizewell C project from Orwell Logistics Park in Suffolk. You will prepare estimates in line with GSA policies, using drawings and specifications to build credible cost models and identify risks and opportunities.

The role requires a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, strong MS Office skills, and a disciplined approach to first-principles estimating.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Able to develop accurate estimates from first principles with a structured approach.
• Strong understanding of risk and opportunity management and its cost impact.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates in accordance with GSA policies and procedures.
• Review scope and design to produce accurate cost estimates.
• Record assumptions, identify risks and opportunities in pricing.
• Collaborate with project team and supply chain on methodologies.
• Develop labour, plant, material and subcontract pricing in Candy.
• Agree outputs with operations and determine working hours for estimates.
• Work with planners to support project programme, resolve estimating issues.
