Estimator - Facilities Management

Location: Robertson House, Stirling

Contract: Full time Permanent

Your new role

What you’ll do:

1. Review invitation to tender (ITT) documents and specifications to understand client requirements.
2. Assess the scope for hard services (e.g., M&E, fabric maintenance), soft services (e.g., cleaning, security, catering), or total FM (integrated).
3. Collaborate with bid teams and senior management to develop a winning strategy and approach.
4. Prepare accurate cost estimates, based on subcontractor quotes and self-delivery rates.
5. Factor in lifecycle costing, possible year-on-year savings, staffing models, and risk contingencies.
6. Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes for specialist services.
7. Ensure quotes are aligned with the tender requirements and value for money.
8. Define and cost labour requirements, shift patterns, and productivity rates for service delivery.
9. Work with operational teams to validate assumptions and delivery models.
10. Ensure tenders comply with legal, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
11. Identify and quantify risks (e.g., inflation, TUPE, payment mechanisms).
12. Work closely with bid managers, business development, and technical experts to align pricing with the written submission.
13. Participate in bid reviews, pricing validations, and governance processes.
14. Use data and insights from previous bids, industry benchmarks, and FM market trends to inform pricing strategy.
15. Support bid presentations, attend client meetings, and respond to clarification questions post-submission.

What you’ll need:

• Degree level in relevant Facilities Management related discipline preferred or 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience in the Facilities Management Sector.
• Highly customer-focused, both internal and external.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to the board of directors.
• An exceptional understanding of SFG20.
