Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is helping a building maintenance and property development specialist in Newry recruit an Estimator (Construction / M+E). The role offers £45,000–£55,000 plus training, progression, travel paid and varied projects, with hybrid working.

You will price components from drawings, estimate public sector and school projects, visit sites occasionally, and progress toward Quantity Surveying through on-the-job training and collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

• Estimator with Quantity Surveying experience or willing to learn.
• Willing to commute to sites and office based in Newry.
• Experience estimating construction, building development and M&E services for public sector projects.

Responsibilities

Are you an Estimator looking to gain specialist training in Quantity Surveying with an industry leading facilities management company offering a wide range of public sector projects and progression to senior levels?

This is an opportunity to join a building maintenance and property development specialist, managing over 30,000 properties across Ireland. They provide new build development of residential and commercial property schemes and are looking to grow their Estimating department with the growth of their business.

In this role you will be working on their new contract in Education development. You will be estimating construction, building development and M+E services within school and other public sectors projects. be taking inbound enquiries and pricing projects on a day-to-day basis. You will follow the project throughout including billing, leasing with other departments for Interim and final account statement preparation, upskilling into Quantity Surveying.

This role would suit an Estimator from the Building Services or Construction looking to join a company offering to upskill you into a Quantity Surveyor.

The Role:

• Produce Estimates and pricings of components based on drawings
• Estimating Construction / Building projects in the public sector
• Occasional site visits to take measurements
• Training in Quantity surveying - following the project cost throughout
• Monday - Friday (8:30am-5pm) and occasional hybrid working

The Person:

• Estimator with Quantity Surveying experience or willing to learn
• Willing to commute to sites and office based in Newry
