Job summary

AWD online, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, seeks an Estimator to own commercially important enquiries in a specialist engineered steelwork environment. You will interpret drawings and specifications, balancing accuracy with deadlines and customer focus.

Working closely with clients and teams across the business, the Estimator will support the estimating and tender process from enquiry through to detailed client estimates and help create viable projects and opportunities.

• Estimating and Tender Coordination: Support the smooth operation of estimating and tender activity, liaising closely with clients and departments across the business
• Detailed Client Estimates: Prepare detailed estimates for clients

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:00, Friday 08:30 to 15:45

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an opportunity to take ownership of commercially important enquiries and help shape viable projects within a specialist engineered steelwork environment.

Working closely with clients and teams across the business, the Estimator will support a smooth estimating and tender process from enquiry through to detailed client estimates.

The Estimator will combine practical estimating knowledge with drawing and specification interpretation, balancing accuracy, deadlines and customer focus.

With varied schemes and relationship-building responsibilities, the Estimator can make a visible contribution to client service and new business opportunities.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Thorough practical understanding of the estimating process
• Ability to work from detailed drawings and specifications
• Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach
• Effective communication with clients and colleagues at all levels
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work to tight deadlines

DESIRABLE

• Relevant qualification in an appropriate technical or engineering-related discipline
• Previous experience with secondary steel or architectural metalwork
