Job description

Estimator required for our client based in Motherwell. Our client is a leading supplier of fabricated steel bridges and steel composite bridges, as well as specialist steel refurbishment contractors. The Estimator will work on a full range of packages, including on-site strengthening works, specialist installation, and heavy fabrication of workshop-built rail, road, and footbridges.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar industry, such as Civil Engineering, Rail, Highways, or Steel. This is a great opportunity to join a successful business with over 100 years of trading history.

• Create tender estimates based on various construction methods, outputs, programmes, and resources
• Prepare analytical tenders from Bills of Quantities, drawings, and specifications
• Develop client relationships and maintain partnerships with suppliers
• Attend handover meetings and support projects, liaising with the production team
• Experience in pricing steel bridge structures, new bridge replacements, on-site repair, or strengthening schemes is preferable but not essential. Willingness to attend sites for knowledge is required.
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and develop tender proposals
