Role Overview

In a Nutshell…

We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join our team within Vistry Works, at our Coalville office and factory. As our Estimator, you will require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to ensure smooth operations in the estimation of timber frame and roof trusses. The successful candidate will need to have strong Excel and Maths abilities and be familiar with estimation, take-off processes and house building.

  • Relevant previous Estimating experience working within a residential house builder
  • Excellent organisational skills to maintain accurate records of customer information and communication logs
  • Experienced in pricing work from first principles as well as utilising supply chain information
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects and collaborate closely with the lead Estimator and other departments
  • Familiarity with house building industry terminology and practices, ideally in relation to timber frame construction
  • Ability to interpret construction working drawings, standard details and specifications.
  • Proven ability to accurately take-off materials and quantities from drawings, experience with Bluebeam take-off software an advantage.
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Experience of Dynamics D365 beneficial

  • Assist in gathering and organising relevant project information for tendering purposes.
  • Preparing and submitting bids and proposals relating to timber frame construction and roof trusses.
  • Provide input into post tender clarifications and negotiations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and colleagues.
  • Attendance at client and stakeholder meetings as required.
  • Assist with the development of a measurement and pricing strategy.
  • Assist with the development and production of standard documentation to support the tendering and other internal processes.
  • Identify, generate and communicate costs for additional contract works.
