Hill McGlynn Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Estimator to join the team in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. The role focuses on accurate pricing of cladding and façade projects, working with pre-construction, commercial and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in cladding/facades and external envelope packages, with strong negotiation and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator within cladding, façades, external envelope or related construction.
• Experience pricing projects from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong understanding of cladding systems and façade construction.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.
• The ability to produce accurate take-offs and competitive tenders.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience working for a main contractor, specialist contractor or multidisciplinary construction business.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for cladding, façade and external envelope packages.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
• Producing accurate take-offs and detailed pricing.
• Obtaining, analysing and negotiating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Developing competitive and commercially viable tender submissions.
• Identifying project risks, exclusions, opportunities and potential value-engineering solutions.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process.
• Working closely with design, commercial and operational teams to ensure pricing accurately reflects project requirements.
• Managing multiple tenders and ensuring submissions are completed within agreed deadlines.
• Supporting the business in developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and supply-chain partners.

Hill McGlynn are currently working with a leading multidisciplinary contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their team, based from their offices in Potters Bar.

Our client has an established track record delivering a diverse range of construction projects and is looking to strengthen its pre-construction team with an Estimator who has experience within cladding, façades and external envelope packages.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established contractor, working on a variety of projects from tender stage through to handover.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the accurate and competitive pricing of cladding and façade projects, working closely with the pre-construction, commercial and operational teams.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in cladding, façades or the wider building envelope sector.

You Will Ideally Have

• Proven experience as an Estimator within cladding, façades, external envelope or a related construction discipline.
• Experience pricing projects from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• A strong understanding of cladding systems, façade construction and associated subcontractor packages.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.
• The ability to produce accurate take-offs and competitive tenders.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively.
• A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach.
• Experience working for a main contractor, specialist contractor or multidisciplinary construction business.
