Job summary

Marshall Recruitment is seeking an experienced Estimator to join a well-established Principal Main Contractor. The role focuses on preparing tenders, cost plans and value engineering across refurbishment and residential/heritage projects in the East Midlands and East Anglia.

You will measure works, price from first principles, and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations while supporting handover to the delivery team post-award.

Qualifications

• At least five years' estimating experience with a Principal Main Contractor.
• Strong knowledge of refurbishment and general building projects.
• Experience pricing both public and private sector works.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.

Overview

Our client is a well-established Principal Main Contractor delivering refurbishment, heritage, listed building and general construction projects across the East Midlands and East Anglia. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team and play a key role in securing a diverse range of projects.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate and competitive tenders for projects ranging from £10,000 to £2 million.
• Measuring works and producing estimates using first principles.
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Producing detailed cost plans and tender submissions.
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Attending site visits where required.
• Supporting the successful handover of projects to the delivery team following contract award.

About You

• At least five years'' estimating experience with a Principal Main Contractor.
• Strong knowledge of refurbishment and general building projects.
• Experience pricing both public and private sector works.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• The ability to work on multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in heritage or listed building projects and public sector frameworks would be advantageous but is not essential.
