Qualifications

  • Some experience in a fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read or interpret basic technical drawings.
  • A methodical approach with solid maths and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and progress within a growing commercial team.
  • IT confidence with Excel, Word, and ideally some exposure to CAD or ERP systems.

Nottingham (NG4) Up to £35,000 Mon-Fri Full-Time, Permanent

Start your estimating career with one of the UKs most respected heavy fabrication specialists.
Were working with a long-established engineering firm in Nottingham that supplies large-scale fabrications to the defence, aerospace, petrochemical, and energy sectors. They're now looking to bring in a motivated Junior Estimator to support their commercial team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates for fabricated metalwork
  • Reading engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Liaising with engineers, buyers, and workshop teams to gather costing information
  • Producing quote breakdowns for materials, labour, and subcontracted services
  • Learning how to manage enquiries from initial contact through to final submission
