Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

Alfreton, Derbyshire | £40,000+ DoE | Full-time & Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction business specialising in precast and civil engineering projects. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tender processes, and monitoring commercial aspects throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates based on technical drawings, reports and specifications
• Liaise with clients and consultants during tender stages
• Coordinate with internal design, production and site teams
• Monitor commercial progress, variations and valuations
• Maintain data and reporting in CRM/ERP systems
• Contribute to process improvement and cost-efficiency strategies

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar
• 3+ years’ experience in estimating or QS roles (construction/precast preferred)
• Proficient in MS Project, AutoCAD and similar tools
• Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel if needed
