Cornerstone Project Source Ltd is recruiting a permanent Estimator in Essex to prepare detailed quotations for subcontract glazing packages, including aluminium and steel windows, doors, curtain walling and rooflights.

The role suits an experienced estimator or ambitious junior candidate, with duties spanning interpretation of drawings and tender documents to liaising with clients, main contractors and internal teams to ensure accurate proposals and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Experience in estimating for subcontract glazing or related construction sectors.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end estimating process, from enquiry to submission.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT literacy.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotations for subcontract glazing packages (aluminium and steel windows, doors, curtain walling, rooflights).
• Interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents to assess project requirements.
• Compile pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, labour and related works.
• Liaise with clients, main contractors and internal teams to clarify requirements and ensure accurate proposals.
• Evaluate installation timescales and include durations and resources in quotations.
• Maintain clear records of estimates, pricing and supporting documents.
• Support tender to project delivery handover with sales and delivery teams.
• Contribute to value engineering to provide cost-effective solutions.
• Attend project sites and meetings when required.

Cornerstone Project Source Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a leading architectural glazing and fenestration specialist for a Permanent Estimator in Essex. The role prepares accurate and competitive quotations for subcontract glazing packages and suits an experienced estimator or an ambitious junior candidate looking to build a long-term career in the fenestration industry. Start Date: Immediate Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum (DOE) Employment Type: Permanent Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday) Location: Essex Type of Work: Estimating and tendering for subcontract glazing packages, including aluminium and steel windows, doors, curtain walling and rooflights, glazed balustrades, internal partitions, wall cladding, mirrors and structural glass Duties:

• Prepare detailed quotations for a wide range of subcontract glazing packages, including aluminium and steel windows, doors, curtain walling systems and rooflights, internal and external glazed balustrades, internal partitions, wall cladding, mirrors and structural glass
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications and tender documents, including NBS specifications, to assess project requirements and scope
• Compile pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, labour and associated works
• Liaise with clients, main contractors and internal teams to clarify requirements and ensure accurate proposals
• Evaluate project installation timescales and include appropriate durations and resources in quotations
• Maintain clear and accurate records of estimates, pricing and supporting documents using internal systems
• Work with the sales and project delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from tender to project delivery
• Contribute to value engineering exercises to provide competitive and cost-effective solutions
• Attend project sites and meetings when required

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in estimating for subcontract glazing or related construction sectors
• Technical knowledge of a wide range of glazing systems, including aluminium and steel windows, doors, curtain walling systems and rooflights, internal and external glazed balustrades, internal partitions, wall cladding, mirrors and structural glass
• A good depth of knowledge interpreting and understanding project specification documents, including NBS specifications
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end estimating process, from enquiry to submission
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT literacy
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Experience:

• Awareness of installation timescales and sequencing within glazing packages
• Experience using internal quoting or CRM/estimating systems (training provided)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites on occasion
