Job summary

Kingsley Group is seeking an Estimator to handle full-spectrum roofing estimating activities, from enquiries to tenders, site surveys, and pricing. You will use drawings and estimating software to produce bills of quantities and manage projects through final submission.

Role emphasizes site visits as needed, office-based work with collaboration across Contracts, Commercial, and Construction teams to secure opportunities and deliver value.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in estimating within the construction sector.
  • Degree or equivalent higher qualification in a related field.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with good technical skills.
  • Good understanding of contractual terms in construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Produce clear tenders, programmes of work, and project cost analysis records.
  • Manage the tender process from enquiry to submission.
  • Support Project Management throughout project delivery.
  • Compile and submit accurate payment applications.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with variation pricing.
  • Develop strong knowledge of products and services to represent the company.
  • Collaborate with Contracts, Commercial and Construction teams across the Group.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Work with Business Development to maximise client partnerships.

Job description

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of roofing estimating activities. This includes analysing enquiries, preparing detailed tenders, and pricing works competitively. You will carry out site surveys and measurements, working with architectural drawings and estimating software to produce bills of quantities.

Project values typically range from £50K – £500K. You will manage the process from initial enquiry through to final submission and work collaboratively with the wider team to successfully secure projects. The role is primarily office-based, with site visits as required.

Role Objectives
  • Produce clear and accurate tenders, programmes of work, and project cost analysis records.
  • Manage the tender process from enquiry to submission.
  • Support Project Management throughout project delivery.
  • Compile and submit accurate payment applications.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with work variation pricing.
  • Develop strong product and service knowledge to represent the company to the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with Contracts, Commercial, and Construction teams across the Group.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.
  • Work closely with the Business Development team to strengthen client partnerships and maximise opportunities

Job Requirements
  • Proven experience in Estimating within the Construction sector.
  • Degree or equivalent higher qualification (ideally in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Maths, or Accounting).
  • Highly organised, self‑motivated, and methodical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities supported by a high level of technological competence.
  • Sound understanding of contractual terms and conditions within construction projects.
  • Personable and confident in building and maintaining long‑term client relationships to support business growth.
