Job description

We are seeking an Estimator to join our client, a growing and well-established civil engineering and building contractor based in Derby.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting tenders and budgets, including obtaining supporting quotations for subcontract work, materials, and plant. You will play a crucial role in the preparation and submission of tenders, ensuring they align with client requirements and company procedures. This includes reviewing and acknowledging tender documents, checking specifications and contract conditions, and compiling accurate estimates using appropriate construction methods. You will collaborate with various departments, visit sites to assess conditions, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and prepare resourced programmes and summary sheets. Throughout the process, you'll ensure compliance with health and safety policies, legislation, and quality management systems. Upon contract award, you will assist in handover meetings and ensure all documentation is accurately completed and transitioned to the Contracts Department.

You’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of experience as an Estimator, ideally from a heavy civils background. If you've worked on infrastructure projects such as battery storage facilities, substations, energy projects, or similar, we’d love to hear from you.
