Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is recruiting an Estimator to join our reputable waterproofing contracting team in East London on a hybrid basis. The role involves taking-off from drawing packs, preparing tenders, and coordinating with operations and clients throughout the bid process.

The successful candidate will price tenders, understand NEC/JCT contracts, and maintain tender documentation, with regular meetings and updates to senior management. Hybrid working, parking, and pension are on offer.

Qualifications

• Take-offs from drawing packs or drawings to inform bids.
• Experience pricing NEC/JCT contracts preferred.
• Understanding of procurement processes across projects.
• Knowledge of system estimating software and tender management systems.
• Preparation of tender notes and clarifications for submissions.
• Ability to price tender preliminaries accurately.
• Self-manage tender administration and electronic filing.

Responsibilities

• Undertake take-offs from drawing packs provided by clients.
• Prepare tenders and bid proposals for presentation to directors.
• Provide information for written bid submissions.
• Liaise with Operations Managers to gather contract data for the bids.
• Attend pre-contract, bid, and client meetings during tender process.
• Chase tenders and feedback from clients.
• Provide long-term tender progress reports to directors.
• Manage the online tender management system.

Amazing new opportunity to work with a reputable waterproof specialist contractor in East London.

About the role of Estimator

Our client is a reputable water specialist contractor with an outstanding 35 mill + turnover. They specialise in spray applied liquid waterproofing systems, basement tanking and cavity drainage. They have over 30 years of experience across all the areas of the construction industry.

Our client is looking for a sole Estimator to work on a hybrid basis and Undertake take-offs from drawing packs provided by our clients, Provide all information necessary for inclusion within the written bid submission and more.

Responsibilities for Estimator

• Undertake take-offs from drawing packs provided by our clients.
• Undertake the preparation of tenders and bid proposals allocated by our business development team for presentation to our directors.
• Provide all information necessary for inclusion within the written bid submission.
• Liaise with the Operations Managers to ensure all necessary information is provided for the contracts team once site works begin.
• Attend pre-contract handover meetings, all necessary bid meetings and client meetings as requested throughout the tender process.
• Chase tenders and request feedback from clients.
• Provide long term tender progress reports to our directors
• Control of our online tender management system

Requirements for Estimator

• Produce the commercial pack for sub-contractor tender submissions.
• Experience of pricing NEC/JCT contracts preferable.
• Understanding of various forms of Procurement Process.
• Knowledge of system estimating software.
• Preparation of notes and clarifications for tender submissions.
• Demonstrate ability in the pricing of tender Preliminaries.
• Ability to self-manage the administration and electronic filing of tender paperwork.
