Are you a time-served machinist or CNC professional ready to take your next step into a commercially focused role? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established precision engineering business as an Estimator, supporting the production of high-quality machined components for a wide range of industries.

This role sits at the heart of a collaborative Sales and Production team, where youll play a vital role in translating customer requirements into accurate and commercially sound quotations.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Creating accurate quotations for machined parts including time, labour, materials, and any subcontracted services.
  • Interpreting customer requirements from 2D/3D drawings, specs, or CAD files.
  • Working with Production and Purchasing to ensure delivery estimates and costs are realistic and competitive.
  • Communicating directly with suppliers to determine the best external pricing for materials and services.
  • Supporting the sales team with technical input and insight to help convert quotes to orders.
  • Contributing to pricing analysis and performance metrics such as quote-to-order ratios.

What Were Looking For:

  • A strong background in CNC machining ideally a time-served machinist with good knowledge of milling and turning (manual and CNC).
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with confidence.
  • Sound commercial awareness and a keen eye for cost efficiency.
  • Excellent numeracy, communication, and IT skills (especially MS Office).
  • A proactive team player with a can-do attitude, strong organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
