Holt Engineering in Bournemouth is seeking an Estimating Engineer to prepare accurate quotations from drawings, BOMs and specifications, while engaging with customers on pricing and technical details. The role spans quoting, pre-production support, and manufacturing handover to production, including route cards and NPI involvement.

You will review drawings and specs, liaise with suppliers, and help translate won work into clear manufacturing methods and production release information.

Formación

• Experience in estimating, quotations, pre-production or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining, welding and precision processes.
• Able to read engineering drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Confident in costings, pricing discussions with customers.
• Communicates well with customers by phone and Teams.
• Able to coordinate with suppliers on pricing, lead times and subcontracting.
• Knowledge of route cards, MRP data and production release.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare accurate estimates and quotations from drawings, BOMs and specs.
• Review RFQs and identify material, supplier, process and cost needs.
• Discuss pricing and delivery with customers directly.
• Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing and lead times.
• Plan manufacturing routes, route cards and production release information.
• Support NPI meetings and help move new work into manufacture.
• Identify manufacturing risks and cost implications before release.
• Maintain quotation, routing and manufacturing data in the MRP system.
• Collaborate with production to ensure realistic and achievable methods.
• Support contract reviews and pre-production meetings.
• Contribute to process improvement across estimating and manufacturing flow.
