Keyfix, part of the Keystone Group of companies, specialises in the development of non-combustible masonry accessories, providing the complete non-combustible cavity solution for external masonry facades in projects over 18m+.

The Technical Engineer will ensure the Keyfix team produce Commercially and Technically accurate quotations and communicate and collaborate effectively with the Keyfix team to ensure correct mark ups are produced in accordance with the customer’s project requirements. You will adopt good practise and general principles when specifying Keyfix products and exceed customer expectations by ensuring prompt replies to queries, implementing comments and meeting site delivery dates.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be a key player within our core team.

This role will be required to champion continuous improvement and drive the development of existing and new growth potential, with particular focus delivering unrivalled customer service levels, customer relationships and commercial targets.

Location: Cookstown

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday 8.45am-5.00pm and Friday 8.45am-3.30pm ¦ On site

Occasional travel within NI, GB & ROI will be expected to develop relationships / solve technical issues &/or facilitate site installations.

Technical Service:

  • Generate consistent quotations and manage amendments in line with internal preconstruction requirements or customers requests for relevant high rise projects.
  • Produce detailed production drawings in an accurate and timely fashion that are easy to read, and provide the most efficient design for the manufacturer within the building requirements.
  • Provide Technical Support to Engineers i.e. design non-standard products that facilitate best practice by design yet are not over designed as to prevent the order being secured. The engineer needs to understand our own production capabilities and costs, as well as competitor solutions that can be used to design and secure an order.

Commercial Service:

  • Engaging with customers directly (preferably by telephone, as the customer wants and needs to speak to the Technical dept. for that added technical assurance and expertise) ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with our Production team to arrange orders and call-offs in conjunction with the customer’s schedule
  • Facilitate and present CPDs as and when required, either via teams or in person within an office environment.
  • Remain the key point of contact from cradle to order and follow up with other brands (were relevant) on key information and project detail.

Technical expertise service

Be approachable to all internal and external customers that need support and understand that others may not be as confident and require support

  • Offer outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers, deliver the Keystone “go through the wall” attitude for everyone you engage. No task is too small or too big when it comes to providing customer service that delights our customers.
  • Co-operate with our Contract Sales team and provide support to ensure real time information on delivery schedule and productivity targets are met.
  • Ensure that the lead information is recorded accurately in the agreed format.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years experience within a fast paced, construction environment held within a similar role.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of construction details and on-site construction practices etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrable experience in a forward-facing customer service/negotiating position
  • Target driven, tenacious and ambitious.
