  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation, and teaching
  • Attracts, develops, and retains great people
  • Is recognized internationally as a leading healthcare provider

This role supports the Director of Estates in ensuring the delivery of an effective estates service that fosters a caring environment, providing value and quality. The successful candidate should have an understanding of all disciplines with a bias towards electrical systems and will work across the site to build and maintain a safe, compliant electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The role involves a variety of tasks, with no two days being the same as we develop the site into a modern hospital. Tasks include:

  • Maintaining properties in accordance with service level agreements and quality standards
  • Ensuring a high-quality environment for staff, patients, and visitors
  • Providing technical advice to estates staff and contractors for safety compliance
  • Assisting in planning and organizing operational maintenance under guidance
  • Executing controlled operations such as isolations and interruptions of mechanical supplies
  • Reviewing and developing maintenance procedures and programs for new equipment and regulatory changes
  • Providing estates assistance across MFT sites as needed for resilience
  • Participating in the estates on-call rota or other service-related duties

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England, with a turnover of £2.8bn. We are creating an integrated health and social care system for over 1 million patients annually, bringing together 10 hospitals and community services across Manchester, Trafford, and beyond. We promote collaboration and transformation, encouraging our 30,000 staff to achieve their goals.

We have developed a digitally enabled organization to improve clinical quality, staff and patient experience, operational efficiency, and foster research and innovation through systems like Hive, our Electronic Patient Record launched in September 2022.
