A regional local government office in East Devon is looking for an Estates Technician to manage the CAFM property database and support estate management. Applicants should have database management experience and strong organizational skills. The position allows flexibility in working arrangements, including virtual work outside of Norfolk. The role offers competitive salary and generous benefits including local government pension.
Now is a great time to join Norfolk County Council Property team; we are continuing to implement our 2022 to 2026 Strategic Property Management Framework, which seeks to improve the quality and performance of our Estate, where data is king. We have a large and diverse property portfolio that we leverage to add both financial and non-financial value to the organisation.
Norfolk County Council owns and occupies around 1500 sites, held principally to support service delivery and policy objectives. Property is acquired or disposed of based on changing service requirements, changing council policies or to improve the efficiency of the overall portfolio.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Estates Technician with database management experience to join our Corporate Property Estates team. The Estates Technician will be responsible for the Councils CAFM property database including the administration, data management, managing user access, and extraction of reports. You will play an important part to support the Councils estate lease and freehold property management by using the system to diarise estate management activities, and progressing work related to recurring estate activities such as lease breaks, renewals, rent reviews, and preparing routine property governance reports. You will also support estate surveyors with delivery of lease conditions such as RPI rent reviews and lease term compliance, which may require site visits within Norfolk. This position reports to one of the Commercial Estates Surveyors.
We welcome applications from candidates who wish to work virtually outside of Norfolk and can travel to the county when required.
In return, we offer the exciting challenge of the role, a supportive working environment where work/life balance is prioritized, flexible working arrangements, and the opportunity to work with leading-edge technology. Norfolk offers a unique blend of beaches, broads, countryside, and culture.
If you believe you have what it takes, we would love to hear from you. For an informal conversation about this vacancy, please contact Deborah Ansari, Head of Estates, Partnerships and Programmes.
We promote a healthy work-life balance, modern workspaces, and excellent remote working technology. Good broadband connectivity is required.
Before applying, please read the full job description and person specification, and review our Terms and Conditions. Existing Norfolk County Council employees can apply via myOracle.
Note: Priority consideration may be given to current employees at risk due to restructure or redeployment.
