Job summary

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a qualified professional to manage commercial property, including rent reviews, renewals and lettings, with responsibility for disposals and acquisitions of land and property. The role requires strong communication and negotiation skills and a clear sense of commercial value.

The post holder should hold a degree in a property discipline, be a member (or eligible) of RICS General Practice, and hold a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level in a property related discipline.
• Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) General Practice.
• Be a Registered valuer with the RICS or capable of becoming one.
• Current Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Experience in the management of Commercial property.

Job Purpose:

Location: Marischal College, Broad Street, Aberdeen
Duration: Permanent, Full Time 35 hours per week

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month's salary payment.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Educated to Degree level in a property related discipline.
A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (General Practice).
Be a Registered valuer with the RICS or be capable of becoming a Registered Valuer.
Current Full UK Driving Licence

The postholder is able to demonstrate:
