Job description

North Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust are seeking a highly motivated Estates Officer to join the Estates department at Scunthorpe General Hospital. The successful candidate will play a proactive role within the Estates & Capital Management team to meet the Trust’s objectives in a safe, cost-effective, efficient manner, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

Reporting directly to the Senior Estates Manager, the Estates Officer will provide effective management and leadership support for Estates & Capital Services staff involved in Operational Maintenance, Projects & Minor Works, and other areas within the directorate. The role involves supporting performance management, fostering teamwork, and developing skills to support departmental flexibility and safety.

The post holder will receive training to develop necessary skills, including engineering competencies, and will be expected to work across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and operate complex technical systems and processes across the Trust, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, procedures, and legislation.
  2. Be appointed to Authorised Person’s (AP) roles as per Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health and Safety documentation.
  3. Oversee compliance under relevant AP tickets, following guidance in ACOPS, HTMs, and other documentation.
  4. Ensure compliance areas are maintained by the estates team, with proper documentation and follow-up actions.
  5. Complete data entry into paper and electronic systems, including job dockets, asset management, timesheets, and stock sheets.
  6. Participate in the on-call rota.
  7. Possess a good general education and experience in engineering/building trades, with ongoing training as required.
