A leading healthcare organization in Southampton seeks an Estates Operations Manager for managing the electrical section. The role includes overseeing maintenance, diagnosing faults in systems, and coordinating project development. Candidates should have relevant electrical qualifications and experience in healthcare environments, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Responsible for the economic and efficient use of all direct and contract site labour and materials to ensure maximum value for money and that the estate is maintained as a safe and warm environment. Developing good customer relationships is a key aspect of this role.
To oversee the continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff in the Electrical Section/Works Estates Department/Estates Directorate, forming a cohesive team.
To contribute to the ongoing development of the Trust as a member of the electrical management team and participate in Trust quality and process improvement projects.
Post is based at Harefield Hospital, Hill End Road, UB9 6JH.
Responsibilities include diagnosing faults in complex engineering systems, building installations, plant, and equipment; managing new systems technologies; and communicating technical knowledge within the team.
To carry out duties as an Authorised Person, particularly for low and high voltage electricity, lifting equipment, fire alarms, medical gases, pressure systems, water systems/Legionella, ventilation, and confined spaces.
Ensure the department functions efficiently, maintaining services and buildings, and understanding the operation of systems, services, structures, plant, and equipment across the Trust.
Maintain all new plant and equipment, provide technical advice to system users and designers, and participate in design and commissioning of new systems, services, plant, and buildings.
Coordinate with Capital Projects on new projects, including design and service brief, and ensure staff are familiarized with documentation during handover.
Undertake minor capital and improvement works following the Trust’s procedures and standards.
