Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Supervisor responsible for managing Hard Facilities Management services. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while managing efficient energy use and improvement projects. Ideal candidates will possess a mechanical bias and experience in managing teams and compliance within a healthcare setting.
The Estates Supervisor is responsible for Hard Facilities Management (FM) services and subcontracted services at NMGH. They will ensure that all buildings, plant, and infrastructure are maintained safely and cost-effectively, complying with statutory requirements, NHS policies, and Trust procedures.
The role involves managing work programmes, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, and collaborating with the Trust’s Energy & Sustainability team to promote efficient energy and utility use. The Estates Supervisor will deputise for the Estates Manager/Officer in their absence.
The ideal candidate will have a mechanical bias and demonstrate the ability to manage change within a growing hospital environment. They should have experience managing large teams, implementing HR strategies, and supporting staff throughout their employment lifecycle.
The main duties include overseeing testing, validation, certification, and registration of statutory compliance requirements, whether performed by in-house teams, PFI providers, or subcontractors, to ensure Trust compliance.
The Estates Supervisor will act as the site Authorised Person in various disciplines, utilizing professional and specialist knowledge gained through training and experience.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance registers, supporting audits, reviewing maintenance programs to ensure statutory and safety standards, and ensuring hospital policies are followed.
