We’re looking for a practical and organised Minor Works Project Manager to join our Estates and Facilities team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
This role focuses on managing small-scale building and engineering projects across our Trust. You’ll be responsible for planning, procuring, and delivering minor works, ensuring projects meet design, compliance and budgetary requirements. Working closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams, you'll help maintain and improve our healthcare environments for patients and staff. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining up-to-date records, drawings and lifecycle data, and supporting the development of the Estates service more widely.
Our sites span across Sussex, and we offer flexibility with your base location—this role can be based at one of several sites across the county.
As Minor Works Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering delegated Estates projects from initial scoping to completion, working to Trust policies and financial instructions
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers and consultants to coordinate and supervise work across multiple sites
- Preparing specifications, obtaining quotes, and managing procurement processes
- Monitoring project progress, performance and budgets—authorising payments once works are completed
- Updating records, drawings and compliance documentation related to works undertaken
- Managing risk assessments, permit systems and service shutdowns where required
- Providing support to the wider Estates team, including covering for senior staff when necessary
- Operating relevant software systems including CAFM, AutoCAD, and BMS to support planning and reporting
- Supporting audits, compliance monitoring, and providing evidence for CQC and other regulatory standards
You’ll need to be confident working independently, able to balance multiple tasks, and have a good understanding of construction and building systems in a healthcare or similarly complex environment.
