Estates Manager – Pubs, Hotels and Ancillary Premises, Hertford

McMullen and Sons Ltd is a progressive, family-owned pub retailer and brewer, trading since 1827. The company owns a varied property portfolio, primarily freehold, including licensed pubs, ancillary properties such as a brewery, offices, retail, residential assets, and land.

We are seeking an experienced Estates Manager based at our Head Office and Brewery in Hertford. The role involves assisting the Property Director in managing the company’s licensed and ancillary property portfolio to maximize financial returns and safeguard property assets.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Chartered Surveyor with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience
• Ability to identify opportunities, drive income, and increase value
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a personable approach
• Hands-on, proactive attitude within a small, skilled team
• Strong attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently, with a sense of humor
• Driving Licence required for site inspections across the estate, including several high-profile sites in Central London

Desirable Skills:

• Understanding of building construction and pathology
• Knowledge of property databases and maintenance/ compliance programs

Position Details:

This is an office-based role in Hertford.
