Job description

Anexciting career opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual tojoin the Estates Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust as an EstatesManager (Operations) covering both Chapel Allerton and Seacroft sites. Thisis a key role in the management and the operation of the Trusts estate which,at over 500,000 sq. meters, is one of the largest and most complex in thecountry.

TheEstates Manager shall have a mechanical or electrical background and possessgood computer and IT skills. The post holder will be responsible for theintegrity of the Mechanical and Electrical systems and infrastructure, andfor providing specialist technical advice for the day-to-day management ofthe Trust's buildings with regards to breakdowns, planned preventativemaintenance and minor works projects whilst providing expert advice on allaspects of Estates Services.

Main duties of the job

Thepost holder will be responsible for the supervision and management of the ofin-house multi-skilled Estates maintenance team, as well as the coordinationof specialist contractors that are pivotal to the day to day running of theEstates function.

Therole will also include responsibility for ensuring that the sites havecompliant value-for money service contracts for all specialist Estatesmaintenance services, collaborating closely with colleagues at other Trustsites to standardise contracts where appropriate. This will include workingwith Trust Procurement specialists to ensure that all contracts are fullycompliant with Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).

Therole will require the successful candidate to be an Authorised person forHigh Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV) and Medical Gas systems and have anoversight of Authorised person duties for Lifts, Ventilation and Boilers andPressure systems.

Thepost holder will participate in an on-call service to provide out of hoursadvice and attendance on site as required. The post holder will be expectedto use their skills, experience, and initiative to resolve problems.

Thepost holder shall have responsibility for the management of the Estates teamand contractors using the RESET certification, control of contactorscompetence-verification system.
