Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to lead the operational management of its facilities and estates services in the West Midlands. This senior role requires a proven track record in estates leadership within a large, complex organisation.

You’ll own contracted services, campus safety, compliance, and budgets, driving improvements across the estate while working with senior leaders and external providers.

Qualifications

• Recognised estates management qualification or significant experience.

About the Role

A further education provider in the West Midlands is looking for an experienced Estates Manager to lead the operational management of its facilities and estates services. This is a senior role suited to someone with a strong track record in estates or facilities leadership within a large and complex organisation.

You’ll take ownership of contracted services, campus safety and compliance, and the budgets and projects that keep the estate running smoothly. Working closely with senior leaders and external providers, you’ll lead a team and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the estate.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing facilities management services and external contractors, including monitoring KPIs, SLAs and contractual compliance.

• Overseeing campus safety, security, maintenance and statutory compliance.

• Managing budgets, resources and estates-related projects.

• Leading and developing staff, driving service improvements and promoting sustainability.

• Working closely with senior leaders and external providers to ensure high-quality estates services.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A recognised estates management qualification, or significant relevant experience

• A vocational qualification in a facilities management-related discipline

• Substantial senior operational management experience

• Experience managing budgets and leading teams

• A strong understanding of estates/facilities management and health and safety
