Main duties of the job
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of capital projects, from feasibility to completion and handover within Estate Maintenance Directorate
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Liaise with internal departments, clinical teams, contractors, and external consultants.
• Prepare business cases, procurement documentation, project plans, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory building engineering regulations and NHS guidelines.
• Contribute to sustainability goals and ensure projects meet environmental standards.

  • A degree in Building, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Desirable criteria

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM)

Experience

  • Substantial experience in managing construction or refurbishment projects within a healthcare or complex environment.

Desirable criteria

  • NHS or public sector project management experience.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria

  • Strong knowledge of health & safety, CDM regulations, and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
