We are seeking a dedicated and organised Estates Operations Compliance Officer to support the day-to-day operations of our Estates team at the Garston (Watford) site.

In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Operations Manager to help ensure that our site, buildings, grounds, and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, while also managing a number of service contracts essential to the smooth running of the estate.

Your role at BRE

  • Take ownership of the compliance matrix and asset registers, ensuring all records and certifications for buildings and infrastructure are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards to ensure BRE Estates remain fully compliant.
  • Develop and manage regular inspection programmes, proactively addressing any compliance issues with clear action plans.
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management and auditors.
  • Oversee hard and soft service contracts, conducting quality checks to ensure timely and satisfactory completion of work.
  • Work closely with third-party specialists, Estates Projects, and Tenant Management teams to monitor and maintain statutory compliance throughout the estate.
  • Conduct routine health and safety audits on FM contractors, reviewing risk assessments and safety procedures.
  • Record and analyse utility consumption data to support mandatory environmental reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the creation and upkeep of operational policies and procedures for the Estates department.
  • Maintain accurate estate records and drawings, liaising with the SHE team to support safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all end users, contributing to overall operational excellence.
  • Be flexible to work outside normal hours when required and deputise for the Senior Operations Manager as needed.

Your Profile:

    • Proven experience working within an Estates or Facilities Management environment.
    • Demonstrated success in managing compliance within property management.
    • Relevant building or engineering qualification and/or membership in a recognised professional body.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
    • A collaborative team player with excellent relationship management skills across stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and colleagues.
    • Detail-oriented, methodical, and highly accurate in work approach.
    • Skilled at assessing and evaluating situations to make informed decisions.
    • Excellent planning and organisational capabilities.
