Job summary

Bridgend College is seeking a Facilities Operative to take responsibility for daily maintenance of the Estates grounds and to support preparation for the Town Centre Campus.

The role requires practical trades experience and a strong understanding of health and safety issues, with emphasis on COSHH and risk assessment. A full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, with a DBS disclosure, is involved.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance for multi-use buildings and land.
• Ability to perform manual handling, lifting and moving equipment, and working at height safely.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• Trades experience and knowledge of Health & Safety issues (COSHH, Risk Assessment, IOSH) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of the Estates grounds.
• Assist Estates team with preparation for Bridgend College's Town Centre Campus.
• Carry out decommissioning works.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
